you tell them to not wait for you and they end up waiting for you and they complain to you about how they had to wait for you, how long you took... and all that stuff... Like seriously, I don't get why people have to complain about stuff that they chose to do. It's not like I forced them to do it.

I was a communications expert and it is known that most people don't receive a message the first time. At least, the 1st ten seconds or so gets lost in their attempts to process their thoughts, actions and plans for the next 30 minutes.

I would recommend you tell people what you want.
Repeat what you want in a different way.
Do a follow up, repeating your wishes.

Ex:
- Please, don't wait for me.
- I've got some stuff to do, so don't hang around expecting me..I won't be here until much later.
- So, that's cool? I'll catch up with you later?

If these people don't get it by then, they are obtuse.

It may seem like a bit much but, believe me, it becomes a habitual thing and actually can improve your life socially and professionally.

I work with a guy like that. If he's not complaining, he's not happy. I know exactly what you mean. Maybe they have nothing better to do to pass the time so they wait on every little thing you do because they admire you (or have a stalking issue.)

People want to prove that they are good. Usually its to make up for some kind of guilt they have over either letting people down or just sucking at life in general.

My advice is to get used to not having "friends." It's great to know people and such, but people who are desperate to be your "friends" usually are trying to build you up just enough to tear you down.

What kind of loser does that anyways? Honestly? If I were told not to wait I'd leave, I'm not a dog, after all. Maybe this person is a stalker?

Why do you make plans with someone, run late, and then tell them not to wait for you???
did you want them to go ahead with the plans that you made together, by themsrlves???
thats rude, and they have a right to complain.

Maybe they care about you. And resent the fact that you diss them by caring little for the time which they are freely willing to invest in you.
