not very good ,but now its very different, they get entitlement that other australians dont,ie completelly free health, education, low interest loans for housing,we are now seing reverse racism where an aboriginal can be chosen over others for jobs, university, etc, and flashy ashley get your facts straight whitlam did nothing ,he was without doubt the worst primeminister this country has ever had(fact)through him there was 3million+out of work, more bankrupts than before or after him so i wouldn't use him as an example, the man was a 500% failure, john howard and his liberal party have done so much more to advance aboriginals but as the saying goes, you can take a horse to water but you cant make him drink it,

Gough Whitlam was the first and only Prime Minister to do the decent thing and initiate reconciliation programs back in 1974.
The Mabo decision came in 1992, giving Aborigines tribal land rights and an avenue of appeal. .
The issue now is empowerment. Aborigines feel powerless. Eduation is knowledge. They don't feel worthy enough to follow their dreams because under the Howard Government they are invisible. And that is a crime.

Are you talking about Aborigines. I saw Rabbit Proof Fence, a true story, about the government used to take the children with mixed blood away from their mothers and send them to "schools". More like prison. I think it is absolutely horrible that their children would be taken away from them.
