I say it's when you put your breadstick in the tomato sauce AFTER you've taken a bite of the stick but my wife says it could be considered "double dipping" if you stick both sides of an uneaten stick in the tomato sauce. I got so mad, we both ended up getting kicked out of the restaurant...I know we need counseling but that isn't the point. (I think she's just greedy) The point is what is double dipping?!??!

double dipping (in my thoughts) is when I would take a bread stick or potato chip and dip it in the sauce once....eat it...then dip the same side in the sauce again and eat it. You are double dipping with the same side that you ate out of. If you have put the article in your mouth all the way, but pulled out a small bit and put it back in the sauce that is double dipping also.....

When I hear the words double dipping it means taking the bread stick dipping it and taking a bite and dipping it again... But it also constitutes as double dipping if you dip both ends. So your both right. Stop fighting... Get over it it's just bread sticks.

Some people who get two or more of things. Another example. Some people retire from the military and get a pension, then they go to work at another state or government job and get a PERS pension, therefore being a double dipper and if they are luck, they may get social security. If you to are arguing this bad you better get counseling before someone gets hurt. Domestic disputes are taken more seriously then it used to be and dealt with more harshly.

You win, kind've . Its when you dip that breadstick or chip or
whatever into the sauce or dip , take a bite , then redip that item
back into the sauce or dip.
I know a double dipper also, a family member who we can't seem
to break out of this habit. We love him anyway.

I agree with you. It's when you put the bitten end back in and share your slobber with everyone else. I can see where the wife's coming from, but she's wrong. You Win!!
