My personal opinion (despite being very liberal and generally all for so-called "political correctness") is that people focus on race far too much and use it as an excuses. Why is it that it is perfectly acceptable for black people to call each other the n-word and yet if someone who is not black does that..it's racist and grounds for possible legal action? The history of slavery really cannot be used as an excuse any more; no one alive today was involved in slavery and the vast majority of us abhor it rather than condoning it.
I'm also against affirmative action. I think if you're qualified, you should get into a university, not if you're not quite qualified, no matter what your race. There are plenty of stupid white people out there, and plenty of very intelligent people of other races. I think college applications and such should just not have race at all, that way no one could accuse anyone of racism or reverse racism. Seems like it would quite handily solve that problem.

Yes, there certainly is. Anytime anyone discriminates against, or harasses, or hurts another because of their race, they are guilty of racism. It's called reverse racism (or discrimination) when it's being committed against a Caucasian, because for some reason, we tend to think only Caucasians are capable of being racist. Perhaps, because in the United States Caucasians used to be a majority. However, Caucasians are no longer a majority (especially, when we are talking about global populations), and they are just as susceptible to being victims of racism as anyone else is. Maybe even more so, as persons who are other than Caucasian, are often not held accountable for their racism towards Caucasians; and therefore, tend to feel more free to commit racist acts against Caucasians without fear of repercussions. Yes, there certainly IS such a thing as reverse racism. The unfair thing is that if you are other than Caucasian, and someone commits a racist act against you, they can be held accountable for a hate crime; but when one who is other than Caucasian commits a racist act against a Caucasian, the Caucasian who has been victimized cannot even defend themself (even simply by claiming that they have been victimized because of their race) without being in jeopardy of being charged with a hate crime. They certainly cannot claim that they've been discriminated against, because they'll be told that racism against Caucasians simply does not exist. And the person who committed an act of racism against them, is not held accountable, and is free to do it all over again to someone else. Again, yes there certainly IS such a thing as reverse racism, and it happens many times each day, right here in the United States.
If this country wants to move forward into the 21st Century, we are going to have to formally acknowledge that reverse racism and discrimination do exist; and everyone is going to have to be held accountable for committing acts of racism, hatred and discrimination regardless of what race they are, or what race the person is they are committing such acts against.

In the US, racism is almost non existant except in reverse. It is not potically correct to say the gunman running down the street who just shot 4 people is black. Blacks make up 6 percent of US population and 50 percent of entertainment and 90 percent of sports and 100 percent of music thugs that shoot to kill rival artists //////????????? And we white must bow down and kiss their black azzezs. Yep - there is certainly such a thing.

Yes, reverse racism means your more bi-ist towards another culture, meaning you'll give the black woman the job, even if she's not right for it, just because she's black, tho it seems less innocent than regular racism, and it is, it's still wrong, and everyone should still be treated equally, no better no worse.

Yes, racism does not have to be against black'. Any race bashing another is racism. And it is very childish.

Racism is racism - no "reverse" about it. If you hate or act against someone just because of their ethnic background, without consideration of their character or actions, that is racism. Period.

reverse racism would be when you hate your own kind. Sadly some people do. the other day at work these girls were calling me to talk sh!t about "rednecks." And they kept calling even though I'm not a redneck. (nothing wrong w/ being a redneck.) How weird it was and how sad.

its racisim if your saying bad things about other races.... i guess it would still be called racisim if African Americans insulted white people, or if latinos called black people slurs.
