I'm not sure, but i do know that pure alcohol and white spirits (basically the same thing, just different forms of chemical alcohols) will burn furniture and will just ruin it. I've used watered down carpet cleaner it do a similar job (ie remove permenant black marker from a coffee table) with no side effects.

Try this, 1/2 cup olive oil with 2 tablespoons real lemon juice added and mixed in. Use a clean soft cloth and dip in just a little of the cloth then wipe the table, as the cloth gets dirty, find a clean spot and dip into the solution again. The lemon juice cleans and the oil restores the beauty of the wood without causing a build-up. Once the table is cleaned, only use this about once a month. Just use a soft cloth and spritz it with water to get dust off table. store the left over oil in an airtight jar/container. It will be good for a couple of months to use on WOOD furniture.

Dunno, but best thing is once you have removed it, chuck the Pledge out and use beeswax polish.
