I don't smoke in my car or allow others, I bought it used at a price too good to pass up on. the only downfall was the smoke smell. But I appreciate all the smart @$$ answers.

Cut a couple of apples in half and put them under the seats and in a few days they will absorb the smoke smell.

I DO smoke in my car and about once a month I go through and completely wipe down my dash, doorpanels, etc with Febreeze. After I vaccuum the entire car, I spray the entire car (carpet and upholstery) and don't forget under the floor mats and door panels. I park my car in the garage so I then leave it open to air out over night and the next day there is NO trace of smoke. Be liberal with the Febreeze, I have a Honda accord and I usually use about 3/4 of a 27oz bottle. It doesn't fade or disccolor the fabric (that is what it is designed for). It also doesn't bother the dash. I have been doing this for about 1 year and my car still looks brand new.
An alternative is to just take it to a dealer. They have a steam system that they use where they put a steam machine in the car to clean to interior and that also does the trick but that is more expensive, but may be more permanent. Like I said, I smoke in my car so I don't know how long this stays for. I know at least 3 days

I use Odoban for smells that must go. You can spritz it on most everything. Smoke leaves a residue though and you do need to clean that up and then deodorize. Get a cleaner for whatever the interior of your car is and shampoo the carpeting and mats. Then use whatever products you have over there to put a protective finish back on your dash and etc. Whatever you spend, just keep in the back of your car and then you have what you need to keep it clean and smelling good. I use Odoban for about everything in my house but if I had leather seats I would stick to car products. Odoban on those mats will take away odor but you must clean first. I spritz Odoban on my mattresses when doing all the covers, shampoo rugs and carpets with it, mop floors and I do pet rescue and all that animal bedding definitely get Odoban in the washer. It deodorizes and sanitizes...good stuff ...a gallon costs less than $10 and you dilute it so it lasts forever.

I smoke in my car and have friends that do not. Everyone tells me that my car smells good. I use the vanilla yellow tree air freshener. Make sure to take it all the way out of the bag. If you replace it every couple of days the smell will last a while in your car.

You should put real vanilla beans ( i know they are expensive) and baking soda put it in a container with holes on top under your seat, it will suck out the nasty smell of cigarette smoke. Good luck, also there is a ozone thing you can buy for your car when you turn on the car it will start, that will work too!

Take Vinegar and put it in small bowls and put them in the car at night , and in the morning it should really do a good joy. Then sprinkle baking Soda on the seats, and leave them over night,(do this on the weekend) and then vacuuming, If you don't smoke fill the ash trays with baking soda and change them every 3 months.

Go to someone who does kick a$$ car detailing. I had to do that and not only was my car freed from cig smoke, but it also smelled and looked like a brand new car. well worth the money.
BTW she said she did not smoke and people have not smoked in car, but that when she bought it, it smelled like smoke. so do not be telling her to have common sense. If you read the whole question that you would have know that. duh!!

Roll down all your windows and let some air in there, spray some air freshener, and if there's cigarette ashes in the ash tray in your car, empty that out as soon as possible and that should do the trick. Works for me all the time.
