Well if they didn't I did..chuckle chuckle...as long as oppositions ie:Poms..or South Africans

Most fast bowlers want to strike fear into batsmen, some bodyline n head hunt not mentioning any names...

Thommo was a star, who backed up his mouth with go get em ,take no prisoners attitude...

On his day he was feared cos he left nothing in the tank, a true express bowler...Did he like to see blood I would say Yes cos then he was doing his job of roughing up opposition..

Unfortunately we do not see enough of Fast express bowlers roughing up cos of rule changes..2 Bouncers per over etc.
BUT in all I would say in the minds of true express bowlers they do like to see Blood, but not set out to maim if you get my drift...Cheers

This applies "in theory" only.A fast bowler will intimidate a batsman as much as possible and if short pitch bowling happens to collide with the batsman then so be it."thommo" was one of the great intimidators and sledgers of all time.Usually at the other end was Dennis Lillie. Both were fierce competitors BUT great sportsmen also and never set out to maim or intentionally hurt the batsman.

While they will attack the batsmen by bouncers and short pkitched deliveries these are mainly aimed at getting the wicket and not meant to injure the batsmen. Hence no fast bowler would like to see blood on the pitch.
