Ok, so my best friend is a girl (i'm a guy) we are 15 (mature) and have known each other for 2 years. Recently-for about the last two weeks- she has been asking for hugs alot, almost every day, and keeps saying she loves me. She had never done either of these before. But the thing is, she has just gotten a boyfriend (16), so I dont know what is up with the hugging etc. all of a sudden. I like her more than a friend and I have to tell her (I will wait till she breaks up with the guy), but I want to know, why might she be getting more touchy so much so quickly? If I am walking her home she puts her arm around me, and the other day I just made the flippant comment; hey, the cat's giving me a back rub, none of ye are that nice (to a group of friends) and she said "I'd give you a back rub". I find this behaviour odd since she has a bf. Whatever your answer, please say why, as I am trying to work it out.

Hmm....seems like she has mixed emotions but I'm not too sure. It is possible for her to like you and her boyfriend at the same time and she may be confused about her feelings. She probably likes you more than a friend but is too afraid to tell you in fear of rejection or ruining the friendship. Therefore, she has a boyfriend so that way she won't act on her feelings towards you. Little does she know that she's already making it obvious. Dude, if she hugs you all the time and says that she loves you then I'd say she definitely likes you more than a friend. This is what I think of your situation but I could be wrong. I mean you said that she was never like this before so why the change? Obviously, she has developed feelings for you. So to sum it up, yes she likes/loves you but she is afraid of ruining the friendship. So my best advice for you is to wait until she breaks up with her current boyfriend and then express your feelings to her. Believe me I know what it's like since I've been in a similar situation before.Good luck and best wishes.........

Things change when u get happier. She has a bf so she is happier and this is why she is being more touchy feely. Don't mistake this for more then what it is.I'm sorry to tell u this but she is just relaying how happy she is by doing these things. You are smart though. You know to tell her how u feel when she doesn't have a bf. You might want to wait to tell her how u feel and just ask her out.If she says no then u have your answer on if she wants to go farther with this friendship.Good luck

I would say the reason she is acting that way is because she has a boyfriend. When you get a boyfriend, I think that you come more touchy with all of your friends, I know that I did. I would say if it bothers you though, just ask her why she acts like that.
hope that helps.

Have you met the boyfriend? She might be lying about having one in order to make you jealous or something. Tell her you don't steal other guys' girlfriends, and I'll bet she comes back in the next couple of days saying she broke up with him.

Sounds like she's really gotten comfortable with you OR she really is starting to like you as MORE than just a friend! She may have a new boyfriend, but as you said, he IS new, they aren't married or engaged or anything like that. She's free and you are free to date whomever you'd like. Sounds to me like she prefers YOU! Best friends always make the best couples you know!

because she has a bf = she may be touching you to see if guys
accept it so she can do it to her bf.
the back rub= that's just weird= why would you tell your friends to give you a back rub, from your friends, come on, from your gf, yeah, but not your friends
also, she may like you more than she likes her bf, tell her how you feel now, not after she breaks up with him, NOW
