Depends on how close to the holiday you will be leaving, also when you will be coming home.
If you are going overseas - travel time, lay overs and jet lag - do you really feel like coming home and taking a lot of stuff down , putting it away and unpacking from an extended stay?
Get a cheery holiday CD/DVD to play for the holiday - it will be easier to store away when you go and no clean up.
Personally if I was leaving within 2 weeks of the holiday , I won't try to fit tree decorating in with packing . My luck I would forget something important. Have a safe trip...

I think you should because we have to appreciate this special occasion. As some people want to celebrate and decorate but they can't because they may not have the opportunity and some families can't afford it. So I think you are very lucky that you can decorate for Xmas as some people can't. Besides Christmas is a time to reflect on families values and get together, so since you are going overseas a little decoration would be good. When you come back from your holidays and step into your house, the first thing you see is the Xmas decoration, it will definitely lighten up and make your family really happy. hehe!

It depends how important tradition it to you. If tradition is important and helps you get into the holiday spirit, then by all means decorate. If decorating seems like more of a hassle because of your travel plans, then don't feel guilty about not doing it. Christmas is for enjoying your loved ones and the people you're with. Don't stress it! Good luck, and happy holidays!

YES!! Then again, I tend to be a Christmas fanatic so I'm a bit biased. My family always goes away for Christmas, but to me decorating for Christmas just isn't about Christmas Day and Christmas Eve. It's about the whole ambiance of making cookies, listening to Christmas music, etc. in a home that's decorated the month leading up to Christmas. (Why do I feel like I just sounded like a corny Hallmark card?) My family puts up decorations the weekend after Thanksgiving, and they stay up until New Year's. I say go for it.

confident, our house is embellished. i does not say that that's loopy, like with lights furniture outdoors, and interior each and every thing is embellished. We only offered 2 Christmas cups, and a Christmas plate. We additionally embellished our Christmas tree and placed stockings on our partitions. basically 2 or 3 nonetheless. We even have wreaths on our 2 doorways. i might say that that's it. Oh, and we extremely have some candles in each and every room or so.

You can, to make it seem like you are home, so thiefs don't plan to rob you this Christmas, and end up missing your other belogings you didn't take with you.
Or you can keep your place the way it is, so you have less effort, but still at the risk of someone coming in.
MY ADVICE: Put something up to make it seem like you are there. But nothing big, like a Christmas tree.

I'd put a couple of things around that you wouldn't mind looking at before you leave and then again when you get home...snowflakes etc., but I would skip the tree.
