A yard is 36 inches, it is used to measure distance. A square yard 36x36 and would be used to measure area. A cubic yard is 36x36x36 and would be used to measure things such as sand or concrete.

Brittney, Brittney, Britteney. OH Brittney.... How big is one yard....
You cutey.......... you mean how long is one yard? .......because you are sweet - I will tell you: it is 36 inches. or 3 feet.
If you say how big is one yard.....brittney........you probably meant how big is one cubic yard. It is 3ft x 3 ft x 3ft = 27 cu.feet.
OK honey?
May be you meant how big is the yard - as in the yard where a house is situated.........That depends. You have to measure the length and breadth........multiply......giving you square ft......then you can convert that into an acre or a square yard etc.... Now beaut, which way did you mean?

It depends on which measurement you want. Just the length of one yard is three feet. A cubic yard is 27 cubic feet, 3x3x3=27
