There was Jefferson Airplane with Grace Slick also don't forget Fleetwood Macwith both Stevie Nicks and Christy McVee. Also GREAT ANSWER Cartman Janis Joplin was the queen of rock.

If you like Garbage you should really listen to "Bricks Are Heavy" by L7 especially "Pretend We're Dead" produced by Butch Vig. They rock!
