Last week my best friend asked me if I wanted to go out with her to have a drink (tonight) so we have been planning this...i was under the impression it was just me and her...and was excited because every time we see each other one of us always has our kid....I had made arrangements and so had she and then she tells me that some girl from her job is coming with us...someone I don't know...so I cancelled...what would you have done?

She did know how I felt about the other person going...and I thought we were going to be able to talk about stuff that has been going on in my house...

Next time just ask her if and it will be just her and yourself. I don't think I would of canceled. First you missed out on spending time with your best friend without kids. Second her coworker might of been a cool person to meet and maybe hangout with. Your best friend also could of been excited about introducing YOU as her best friend. I guess the best thing to do would be is just talk to her about it. Friendship is love, sharing, caring, fighting, disagreeing, and forgiveness.

You should have gone. You most likely would have had a good time. The person that was coming along may have been really nice and fun. Maybe that person had something going on and your friend thought it would be nice for her to get out of the house. Maybe you friend thought the two of you would get along, and the three of you would have fun.

I would have gone. Sounds like it might have been fun. Just look at all the time you wasted planning for this night out. Who cares if someone else goes along! Your friend probably thought you would enjoy the company of this other person. I'm sure she missed you.

By the sounds of your question, it appears as if you might have a few issues to work out.

i would have still gone... the kids could have had a good time and you two could have talked together.... next time ask for time with you alone... just you two getting to know each other and each other's kids... little things like that will bring you closer to each other

I wouldn't of canceled. To me that is kinda childish.I would of went and then told her I would like to go out with just her sometime. She is not a mind reader so I don't think she knew how u felt. She sounds like to me someone that just wants to go out with friends. You need to stop and think about this.
