I'm a music junkie and when I get bored with my current collection and want to find something new I go to the "Music" section of http://www.amazon.com and type in my favorite artist/band and/or album and hit "GO". Scroll down and select a favorite album. Once that page loads, scroll down and look at what other people who bought this album also bought. Frequently on amazon.com you can hear samples of music that might help you decide if you like it. I've found some really great artists/bands this way.
P.S. If you like Evanescence, look into a band called Collide and for something along those lines that's a lot harder try Snake River Conspiracy (specifically the Sonic Jihad album). Also check out Beck, Jet, Snow Patrol (another personal favorite, but can be slow), Keane, Audioslave, John Mayer, My Chemical Romance, She Wants Revenge, Secret Machines, Editors, People in Planes, Rock Kills Kid and Tapping The Vein.

Considering the bands you like...if you haven't checked out The Sex Pistols' "Never Mind the Bullocks" (1977ish) then you're missing out!! This isn't a new band but they've influenced all of the bands you've mentioned. Good Luck. Also, try listening to other types of music from different decades. You may be pleasantly surprised.
