he dont drive. he dont smoke neither. he is single also.
he dont have family left except for those too far away too mention.
he also doesnt have a life, but he works a lot. the job is why he's in new york. without the job, the 65k is gone and so is new york.
so...is bob doing well in life? or is he way way way far behind his compatriots. im not talking about the athletes, or stars or billionaires to compare too. im just talking about the normal people out there. is bob doing well in comparison and why would we need to compare bob in the first place? why cant bob just be happy with himself and not worry bout the joneses and what other people think of him? why?

Bob has lost focus of what is important. Or perhaps he has never been quite brave enough to try something wild and daring, to follow a dream or a whim to let himself feel alive. Bob sounds like he might be living the proverbial "life of quiet desparation". Is the job and the 65k really worth that? What would Bob do if it were his last day on earth? Maybe he should dwell on that, if only for a moment. That moment may be long enough to save his very life. It sounds like he really has very little to lose, overall. And that small fact could actually make him a very very free man. If he is comparing himself to others, he must have doubts about his life. Otherwise, what would be the point in comparing? Sometimes he comes out ahead, and sometimes he comes out behind. Still, it seems a waste of time to do that. Sounds like on some level he must be dis-satisfied. Hey, have you ever seen the Truman Show?

Bob needs to make himself happy and not worry about what other people think. And after a while, keeping up with the Joneses is just not worth it. (been there, done that)

Dont be so busy making a living that you forget to make a life!

If the 65k and New york make Bob happy.. the rest will follow.

Bob sounds very normal. Maybe Bob could start a hobby of somesort?

Bob does make some decent cash, so he's good financially.

It's hard to not worry about what others think. I am 31 and sometimes worry about it but I am working on it. :)

Bob should be more concerned about his happiness than some job. Who cares how much he makes? The question is..does he have hobbies, friends, enjoys life? Probably not. Bob's goint to die a lonely sad man.
