If you are asking when you can get pregnant it is when the egg is released from the ovarie(s), then for about a week it will slowly float down and down untill it is flushed out unfertalized. Once an egg meats a sperm i guess you would call it "active" but you wont have a triving "baby" untill it implants, then it will live longer than just being flushed out with that months period.

The egg can be fertilized once it is released at a time referred to as ovulation. After ovulation the egg will travel through the fallopian tubes toward the uterus, implanting there 6-12 days later if fertilized with sperm, or degrading in the fallopian tubes within 24 hours if not fertilized.
