I'm 15 and i'm 4'11". Everyone in my family in short. My mom is 5'2" and my dad is 5'6". I saw a movie where a guy got his legs done or something to make himself taller, is that really possible? If so, where do I get it done and how much does it cost?

In the short term it is possible to add a few inches onto your height - You would have to leave the US to do it if is for cosmetic purposes. The long term effect is negative for the muscles and ligaments of your body. Going from 4'11" to 5"2" and suffering a life of pain is not worth it. Being short is not bad. Some of histories greatest people were short and very successful. You only need to think tall and you will be tall

There's a surgery you can get where they break the bones, then put these spacers in, and then wait for the bone to grow in betweeen the breaks. Healing can take from 6 months to two years. Doing your lower legs gives you 3 inches, and doing both upper and lower legs gives you 6 inches, although then you won't look proportional.

It can be done they can make the legs longer but would be out of proportion it's only done for Little people............... you are short, just deal with it. It's not how big a person is on the outside, but the inside, attitude will make up for height

I had the same problem years ago and I saw a show where they broke the persons legs over and over and new bone would grow to fill in the space...but this was a severely handicapped person and I doubt they do that to a healthy person. Would it be worth it??? Sounds pretty painful to me!

Yes, limb lengthening surgery is a little more common now than in the past...but is very expensiveand keeps you off your feet a long time. But, if you like, you can read about it at Webmd.com. Just enter "limb lengthening" in the search box. There are several articles. After reading about it, you may decide you are not interested.
