The job I want to have is not even be related to my major and I probably would be able to get in without a degree. However many companies will not hire you if you do not have atleast a bacularette. But really, its all about who you know. College isn't for everyone. If you started, you might as well finish though :)

Not finishing college would had been a big waste of money.
However I know for a fact I'd be doing about the same beings I don't use my degree in my job. Silly me getting a degree in a field that I am no longer interested in.

For me, badly. I was studying for a liberal arts degree, so it's not like I had any useful skills or connections for the job world. Employers tend to use the bachelor's degree to weed out people when they are hiring, unless that person already has a lot of good experience. Plus, I would have felt bad about myself because academics were a main source of self-esteem for me. If you know how to do computer programming or graphic design already you might be able to break in without a degree.

I think you should consider your options. If you don't stay in college, where do you see yourself career wise in the future? I am attending college, and even though I don't know what I will do with my Sociology major, I believe college is what's best for the future. I also believe that you have a better chance of having a job you enjoy with a degree.

Sounds okay to me, Bill Gates didn't finish College Neither did Michael Dell of Dell Computer. If you have an alternative that you have a passion for and can make it into a moneymaking enterprise you may not need to finish college.

There are careers which do not require college. Some people really are not cut out for it, and some people are simply not able to handle it. Doesn't mean you have to settle for a low-paying job, either. The key thing is to find something you are able and willing to do, and get whatever training you need for that. Do what makes you happy, and be happy doing what you do.

I would not have been able to get the jobs I did, which would have meant that in many cases I would never have met the people I met, so my life would have been very different. Not necessarily awful or anything, but different and probably harder.

I would think that person would end up in McDonalds or something. My friend's uncle didn't go to college and he became a magician

Formal education is a training process, but so are studying "trades". I am an educated person who has achieved a lot because of my openess to learn and pursue.
