I have to do a report on that book. My assignment is to write a 3 page analysis paper proving the fact that the author Mary Shelley used one of the below in her book and why she used it:
Beauty
Creation
Nature
Identity
Companionship
Quest for Knowledge
Good and Evil
I need specific parts from the book to prove my point. Thanks for your help.

Ok let me explain. My question is a little confusing. I HAVE read the book and I know what happens. I just need someone to help me pick one of the themes I posted according to which as the most info in the book to prove it. Such as: Beauty-the monster realizes he is ugly and is offended/hides from people; Creation-Dr. Frankenstein had the desire in the beginning to create a monster and later is forced to make a female version and then destroys it; Nature-there's alot on nature but I don't think it is as significant as the other themes in the book; Identity-not a big fan of this theme; Companionship-like this them-Dr Frankenstein and Elizabeth, Safie and Felix-monster and his desire for love; Good and Evil-monster is good and evil at same time; Quest for Knowledge-monster reads books, wants to know more, victor frankenstein's obsession with science
see, i've read the book, just need help on which theme to pick and examples to go with it

I think that two really important parts of the novel are "Quest for knowledge" and "Identity." I think that writing about the quest for knowledge would probably be the most interesting, but I'm not sure how much you would be able to pull out of the book itself in terms of textual support. The age old question that arises again in the book is "Just because you can, does that mean you should?" That plays into Victor's quest to find a way to reanimate life.
If I were writing an essay over this, and I have had to before, I think I would probably choose 'creation' or 'good and evil.' The irony of the novel, of course, is that it is not Frankenstein's monster that is evil but Frankenstein himself. For he is the one who creates life and then abandons it. Very important theme throughout the novel. So, I would go with 'creation.' There is much textual support in the novel. You could discuss Victor's point of view and then delve into how it effects Victor's creation.
Good luck!

Tell your teacher that the book was written during a tryst between Mary & Percy Shelley and George Gordon.
It was created out of guilt from the death of her child and in the way that it was written, because the three of them were NOTORIOUS Opium users...
Rent the movie Haunted Summer or Gothic and you'll see what I mean.
The idea of Good and Evil is always one of my favorite subjects because it is so very relative.
Was the Monster truely evil because he was created and therefore lacked a soul? Well, that was asked of the reader because of the fact that Percy and Lord Byron both were practising athiests... Latter day Libertines if you will...
or were the villagers who hunted the "monster" the evil ones?

Have you read the book?
Think about why the monster was created. Frankenstein was trying to learn how life worked. Think how people shunned the monster because it was so ugly. The monster was upset that everyone was afraid of him and he left for the North Pole.

Yes, many people have read "Frankenstein" by Mary Shelly. That's why it's a classic. And a classic film... with a recent remake. That answers your question. As for the report, have fun reading! I'm sure an idea for your book report thesis will come to you as you're reading...

yes, i'm reading it at skool too! if u searched up Mary Shelley's biography, it'll really help because she basically based the story on her life. there were 3 men in her life, and all their personality's were used in Victor Frankesteins. She had a dream that she brought her dead baby to life by rubbing it near an open fire(monster) and MANY of other stuff, it WILL help u!!

Frankenstein is a short book, an average reader can complete it front to back in one evening, 4-5 hours. I suggest you have your list in front of you, a very large cup of coffee, and read it. It is an easy read, you will enjoy it.

I have the book, but I've only read part of it. And I think the monster was supposed to be sympathized with, at least somewhat. He couldn't help that he was a monster.
