It will go from like red to green to blue...then it will also change in brightness as well. It's basically new...not even a year old yet and it's a flat panel monitor. It shouldn't be going out on me already >_< What can I do??

Don't whack your flat panel with your hand. It could be a cable, hardware, software or an electromagnetic issue.
First, check your monitor cable for bent pins and try a different cable.
When you installed your monitor, did your comptuer automatically detect and install a driver for it or did the monitor come with software? Or is it possible your computer updated the driver software recently? You can try going to the manufacturer's website and under "support" looking up current hardware drivers for your monitor's model. Download and install the driver.
The easiest and best solution is to take it back if it's still under warranty.

How long did you have the computer on? Your graphics card may have gotten hotter, it should be back to normal once it has cooled down.
May be your graphics card, or your monitor. Should come with 12 months manufacturer warranty.

You need to try the monitor on a different computer to see if it's the monitor or the computer misbehaving.

Yell at it and then hit it with an open hand. That really always works on electronics for me.
