Yes. He should be in Hall for what he accomplished on the field. I had a very hard time bringing my son to Cooperstown last year and having to explain why he couldn't see the the plaques of Shoeless Joe and Rose. I agree what he did was wrong but the Hall is the ones that changed the rules to the Pete Rose rule stating that no player banned for life from the game would be allowed in the Hall.
After Rose's ban was instated, the Baseball Hall of Fame had specifically stated that individuals who are banned from the sport are ineligible for induction; previously, those who were banned (most notably, Shoeless Joe Jackson) had been excluded by informal agreement among voters. The issue of his possible re-instatement and election to the Hall of Fame remains a contentious one throughout baseball.

Though I loved Pete Rose since he played on my beloved Cincinnati Reds. I don't believe him and especially now. I really doubt he will be inducted anytime soon so don't wait for the phone call. Once someone is banned it means banned. He did it by beting on baseball and probably on the Reds, too. I am not a fan of Bud Selig, either, but he is just maintaining what was started before his tenure. Face it Pete you made your bed and lied in it some time ago. U should have never done this in the first place. l

Until they admit Richie Ashburn and Pete Rose
into the Baseball Hall Of Fame, it will not really
be a hall of fame.
There's not a member in that hall that's not
somehow flawed.

Sorry - got to disagree. The man is a terrible example for children, self-serving and constantly out for personal profit.
True greats like Shoeless Joe Jackson aren't in the hall so why should a self-centered egotist who kept himself in the game (as a couch) just to earn hitting records be allowed in?

He only admitting to betting on his team after the ban. He should have come clean in the beginning. But I still think he should be let in now.
