Last year it took 2 days in the refrigerator for a 18lb turkey I did. The other turkey I cooked was also 18lbs and I used the quick thaw method by keeping the turkey in the wrapper and putting it in a bucket and running cold water in the bucket. You have to weigh it down so the turkey stays submerged under water. It will thaw in about 2-5 hours, depending on how frozen it is. Then you can take it out of the wrapper and it should be thawed and you can clean it for cooking.

Start late afternoon the day before. About an hour or so before
run cold water through the inside to finish the job. No matter how long I thaw a turkey I've always had a problem completely thawing the inside but thats not a big problem finish it with the cold water.

You can thaw it in a sink or bucket full of warm water. You reallt shouldn't let it sit out of refridgeration though. That is how you contract Salmenela. If you have an ice chest or somrthing I would oput it in there with a few cold packs or better yet make room in your fridge for the turkey and put your other items in the ice chest. Good Luck

I would try about 2 days. That way it will be thawed enough to clean it out. Happy Thanksgiving
