2) A- this is iffy, but B is compound, not complex. C is simple. D is compound.
3) C- the other choices are all complex sentences.

A complex sentence is a sentence that has a dependent clause.
A compound sentence is a sentence that has two complete thoughts joined together

1) D --none of the others are complex, only have prepositional phrases
