Where are people getting that its Philomena? I live in an area with 98% hispanics and I know many Fabiana's. I think Phabiana would be fine. I understand what you mean about the language being spanish and th PH sound, but I think it would be ok.

I don't see why not but she's libel to have trouble with people mispronouncing it all of her life, but I really don't see why. Ph has the same sound as F, it's not like changing a C to a K. I know a woman that named her daughter Cynthia but with a K instead of a C.

I know what you mean... People who are native Spanish speakers might just call her "Pa-biana"... What if you add an "f" to the "Ph" so there's NO confusion? Like this: Phfabiana... If you say it in Spanish, the "f" kind of mutes out the strong "P" sound so it sounds just like it would in English. Good Luck!!!

Spell it with an F! Ph looks silly.

English is a funky language phonetically. You should be able to do anything, but you have a high risk of misspellings/pronuncations. I'd suggest you didn't...of course you'd probably have problems witht he name as spelled normally anyway.

She's your child. You can spell it anyway you want. People invent names that are a lot stranger than Phabiana.

Alec, you're incorrect... it's PHILOMENA but that's a different name from Phabiana.

I would think it is your decision. There are no rules on name spelling my daughter's name isn't spelled the way most people would spell it.
