How do i speed up my computer?

Open run command, type 'msconfig'. click on 'startup' tab, and uncheck all the unnecessary utilities...Click Ok to restart. When Windows start, check the annoying messagebox to NOT showing this message anymore....And there you go..Zoom, Zoom!

There are a few things you could do, the most effective would be to buy RAM, however before you do that i would recommend defraging your harddrive and also press ctrl, alt, delete, go to processes and delete everything you dont want however that is only temporary and will reset when you turn your computer off, you can also remove unwanted files from the harddrive but i would get help if you dont know what you might need

More memory will help as well as doing a defrag of the hard drive. There is a tool that system administrators use on networks known as UPHclean. Although I believe this tool was designed for administration of user profiles on domains it will do a lot of good cleaning up the profile on your Windows XP box at home.

remove all but the items you must have at start up from your computer. For instance, trying to start your computer with 10 items all starting up at one time will slow your start up down. Also perform disk clean-up and disk defragmenter twice a week or more. If this is not enough you may need to expand your memory.

You can try emptying your Prefetch....click my computer then click local disk and then windows you'll see Prefetch halfway down click it then edit and selectall then hit file and delete.There's also a good program called EasyCleaner 123 by ToniArts that will help get rid of junk that bogs ya down.
