According to most reports he will end up in Boston (or the Mets). I think there are a few very quiet teams trying to sneak in and get him. One real possibility is the White Sox(they wont re-sign podsednik and would value Lugo's speed and pop at the top of their order), another is the Dodgers(another team needing top of the order pop and speed plus may lose Garciappara). The team I am betting he ends up with will be the Angels. Moreno has deep pockets, is itching to spend his money and clearly the Angels are desperate to add some bats to their line up. They could use an upgrade at most infield positions and and seem to be the team most eager to overspend (not suggesting that whatever Lugo signs for is bad spent money, just guessing Moreno is so impatient that he may give 2-3 million a year more than anyone else may offer). Plus they may be thinking that signing free agents beats trading away pitching.

He will end up with the Red Sox. Since the Mets re-signed Jose Valentine, and them and the Sox were the top two candidates for Lugo, the Sox will have no problem signing him for not too much money

According to several reports the Boston Red Sox are favorites to land the services for Lugo.

The Red Sox and GM Epstein will continue to play "musical shortstops" once again this season and overpay Lugo.

Epstein just can't find a SS that he likes: Nomar > OC > Rentaria > Gonzo > Lugo. Plus he traded Hanley Ramirez.

Hopefully, Theo Epstein will be the next person shipped out of Red Sox nation!

He is gonna end up with the Red Soxs. The red sox need bullpen reliefe. The red soxs have proved they ain't scared to spend money with the matsuzaka deal and they seem to want to beat out the yankees in every bid.

I myself think the Mets will land him. If the Red Sox sign that pitcher Matuzki they won't have much more money to anything. Plus, the Mets need a second base man.
