What kind of nurses are in short supply now? I heard OBGYN and cardiac nurses are hot at the moment, but I don't know where to get specific information. Where can I find such information? Thanks if you have the answer.

Those in the hightest demand and those with the greatest turnover are hospital floor med/surg nurses. There are short staffed all the time.

Operating Room nurses; Theater Area nurses; Psychiatric nurses. Nurses assigned to Intensive Care Units.

I'd look at HotJobs.com (and other job websites). Look at the number of postings as well as the wages being offered.

I'm thinking that nurse practitioners will continue to be in demand, as well as CRNA's.
