unfortunately not. Too many people in India compared to US. Unless India attacks america and occupy its land...they stands no chance. There are very few countries in the world that did invade other coutries and occupied land. India and China are two such countries. No wonder why these two countries are now over crowded.

Its impossible at this stage as INDIA become like America because it was under its control and the caste system in India discourages the talent person in INDIA and force them to Move outside India instead of giving the people of INDIA the caste based reservation the GOVERNMENT can give the ECONOMY based Reservation but its Impossible in INDIA even the supreme court says to change the reservation policy on the economy based but the great politicians have condemned it and they only like to go for the caste based reservation as it was the vote for them even now there was a religious based reservation and it was the one which was against the Majority population of the Country this too because of the VOTE

Americans are originals, Indians are copy-cats. Indians use 'American' names in the US and UK. Why? are they ashamed of their Indian names or, do they like the English names.
Bollywood copies almost all Hollywood movies. Just changing B from H tell a lot, doesn't it?
Indians can be like America when they learn to be original in every way. Indians did beat China in their population race. Why not, some day in the far distant future.... India will be better than US, only after first being better than Singapore, France, Japan and UK.

Depends on what is in your mind. If you are thinking of Coke, Pepsi, burgers, KFC, Big Mac, bikini clad girls and tattooed guys, India is just a short distance away from catching up with the US.
If however, you have development and prosperity in your mind the distance is far longer. And it will increase in the coming days as development wouldn't stop in the US. So you have a fair idea of the amount of effort that every Indian will have to put in to reach that objective. The question is, where do we see that effort? Except our jawans who lay their lives for India and some scientists tirelessly working in relatively backdated labs for technological and scientific development of this country, I personally perceive little sincere effort elsewhere. Our politicians, bureaucrats have all failed us. The people have to come up with the determination to make India equal to America. Maybe more. And yes, it is achievable, if we, the people really love our country and want to make it truly 'mahaan'.

Since India is now receiving our nuclear grade uranium from the new deal struck between the United States, I think if they responsibly use the alternative fuel source and continue to change from a rural society to urban society at the current rate... I feel they will challenge Japan in a technology driven society. That takes them further ahead of in technology rich world.

It can. First of all all the population needs to be educated. In the United States illiterate is almost 0,001%. India needs to start appreciating all the people, giving them the tools to be successful. The problem with India is the Caste system which creates discrimination between its on people. People are not looking for the greater good of the country, but for their own motivation and the greater good of the Caste. It is like several mini countries inside of one country. In the United States, the power is on the president but he can not pass anything unless goes through the Senate. People have freedom of speech, freedom of press. The corruption is minimum, because the President has always to explain his acts and be accountable for. To change a country it starts by education. People in India needs to be educated. Education needs to become law. But it will take several generation to see its effect. Education to everybody is he only way to change a country and give those people the opportunity to better themselves.
