right click on your desktop and click properties. Click the settings tab, then advanced button. then click the monitor tab. use the drop down arrow to select the highest refresh rate that your monitor will use. if you select one that is too high your monitor will turn off for 15 seconds.
higher refresh rates are better for your eyes
there should be some buttons on the front of your monitor. play with these buttons to change the size of your screen, so you have less borders on your monitor,
the basic proccess for this is go through a menu to get to a certain type of ajustment, say, making the screen bigger vertically, then either plus or minus it. other settings are to rotate, make it not buldge on teh sides. and others
if you want more space on your desktop, right click on the desktop and click properties. then click the settings tab, and slide the slider bar to the right. if your monitor does not support the setting it will turn off for 15 seconds or so

Is it the site or the computer itself? If the site, hold down Ctrl and press - until the page is an ideal size. If there is a resolution problem (Start menu is big too) right click on the Desktop background and click Properties. Then, change settings resolution to 800x600 or higher (recommended above res.)

First try: Right click the desktop, select Properties. Select the Settings Tap and change the Screen Resolution there.
or try: Play with the buttons on the front of your monitor.
One of these two should fix it.

There should be buttons on the front of your monitor to make adjustments.
See if you have one marked "menu."
Go to the website of your monitor's manufacturer for help in making adjustments.

Try the buttons on the monitor itself. There you can make it wider, taller, fill the whole screen.
Hope that helps.
