maximum price should be $700. Toatal, not just for the laptop, but for all the little accesories and stuff.

Go look on eBay: http://www.ebay.com or look around the classified ads in the newspaper for used laptops. I'm using a set of IBM Thinkpads equipped with Pentium 3s and they work great. The CD drives and hard drives can easily be switched out for newer models, same with memory. I paid $150 for one equipped with a docking port (very convenient) and I think the other one was $215.

...so... I'm pretty sure you can get a far better laptop than the one's I'm working with.

generally that kinda price range just get the best u can get for ure money....skimp on accesories not the laptop.

Not sure on manufacturers cus ure in $ and im in £ so have no clue where u are what to choose

at hp.com and dell.com they have nice laptops for under 700 and you can customize them
