I am using Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2. I am also on a laptop instead of a desktop. When I am in the middle of something my laptop screen just turns black and is off. When I turn on my laptop I get no error message saying that my computer crashed and/or it has recovered from a serious error.

1. run an anti-virus program http://grisoft.com has AVG free.
2. Scan your system, register, etc. crapcleaner. free. google.com for it.
3. get lavasoft adaware, spybot S&D, shootthemessenger
Ditto on the google.com searching...

download ad aware se
run a scan
delete everything including tracking cookies and mru list
then go to control panel
add/remove programs
remove the unnecessary ones

more than likely soem corupted window files... id recommend backing up your data and reinstall xp and dont forget sp2

backup all of your data, get drivers from the manufacturer. and reinstall windows xp sp2
