The artic ice shelf IS melting .Not a myth .Polar bears ARE drowning .Artic communities have experienced increased flooding and evacs.Worst droughts out west since the thirties. There is abundant evidence of glaciers retreating. The science is out there and I will believe scientific evidence and experience over people who want to bury their heads in the sand and stupidly do nothing any day of the week.Don't let yourself get conned by people who are in denial and have no proof of their own to contradict scientific evidence and eyewitness accounts .Global warming is no joke and we must do something to prevent it from getting worse now before it's too late.

there are two sides to the story. One that global warming is started by gasses (yet we drive cars and can't stop or slow that down, and the electric companies are run 50% by coal and we can't stop using electricity, and the ideas to slow that down are very slow in coming).
The other story is that from a historical point of view every so many years the face of the globe changes, the warm parts get cold, the cold parts get warm, there is a flood...and sometimes an ice age even.
If all cars stopped no one would have income, if electricity stopped no one would have income, and, because of the weather in the area we live we'd either freeze to death, melt in the heat, and have no food. So what do you suggest we do as a nation? Maybe as individuals though we could move.

You cannot. It is a natural recurring shift in global temperature. Humans may add to the problem, but there is no way to stop it. Now if you could control the sun, which btw is causing global warming on both Mars and Venus, we may do something.

We can't... global warming is a natural cycle of the Earth/Sol system. It's happened before and it will happen again after this cycle runs it's course.
Even if you buy into the "mankind caused" global warming... there is nothing we can do unless we also exterminate all those that are "polluting" worse than we are.

Been listening to Algore again?
Unless you missed it, MIT says man-made global warming is a myth.
One volcano eruption can spew as much pollution as all the cars & trucks in the WORLD do in 10 years.
What makes us so arrogant that we try to take credit for it?
How do you explain the fact that it has happened before, when there were no cars/trucks/factories to create pollution?

Whether global warming is a reality or not, there are simple steps we can take that will slow it down if it is real, and still be good ideas even if it isn't.
Reducing fossil fuel (gasoline) emissions, lowering industrial pollution, avoiding other activities that dump pollutants into the air.
These are useful in and of themself, and on the off chance that thousands of scientists all over the world are correct, then they will also help slow the global climate changes that might occur.

... well global warming is occurring...
is it because of man... well... it seems you talk to 10 different people, you're going to get a few different answers...
it does seem that the majority of scientists think that we at least have something to do with it... but scientists have been wrong before... but they've also been right before...
it really comes down to... do we want to take the chance that we aren't causing it... it would cut into profits some to curtail pollution, but would it be worth the risk not to?

Well in 50 years , I guess we'll know if it was true or not and by then it'll be to late to do anything about and we'll just have to live with it or not .
How will you answer your children , when they ask you , " Why , didn't you do somethim\ng to stop this " ?
I don't remember who said something like , " It's better to error in the side of .... then , not to error at all .
Aren't we the keepers of this land and shouldn't we try to keep it as pristine as possible for our children and to set a good example for them , on how to save their world ?

As a Nation I guess we have to start investing a technology on how we can cover the ozone layer, if we can go to Mars and investigate then we can investigate how to send a robot to fix the hole of the earth. Just a thought.

Contaminates including CO2 is a problem that needs to be dealt with.
Solutions:
1. PLANT more trees & plants
2. Switch to renewable energy - algea, hydrogen, geo-thermal, solar, wind, current, tide, etc
It is all political - these steps can be easily implimneted.
It is NOT a circumstance or technology problem ... IT IS a GREED problem.
