If so can u tell me if H2O is a compound or an element, and why?
(It doesn't have to be long but it does have to be right, and science terms wouldn't be bad) And also can u pleace optionally answer my second q which is (After proteins are made by the ribosomes, how do they leave the cell, and what is the process called? Thanks a Lot!

Hydrogen and Oxygen are elements and H20 and H2O2 are examples of compounds formed with these elements. An atom is an element , two or more of them are a compound

Exocytosis is the process by which a cell releases large biomolecules through its membrane such as enzymes, peptide hormones and antibodies
Five steps are involved in exocytosis:
Vesicle tethering
Vesicle docking
Vesicle priming
Vesicle fusion

H2O, or "water" as it's more popularly known, was in ancient times considered to be an element. That was a mistaken belief. It has since been found that each water molecule (not atom) is composed of (and here's the big hint that should have shown you the answer) two hydrogen atoms (H2) and one oxygen atom (O).

An element is a type of atom, such as hydrogen, oxygen, iron, etc. Molecules are made up of two or more atoms, often of more than one type (element) but sometimes of just one, such as a typical oxygen molecule (O2) or the less stable ozone (O3). I *think* a compound would have molecules made up of more than one element.

It is a compound in the current scientific terminology, because it is made out of different elements. The ancient philosophers called "water an "element" (along with air, earth and fire) because they did not know any better.
Oxygen and hydrogen are chemical elements, because at that level, they cannot be made any simpler.

Water (H2O) is a compound. It is made up of the elements hyrdogen and oxygen. The difference between these two is that a compound is made up of more than one atom of either the same or different elements.

An element is something that cannot be made any simpler. Hydrogen and Oxygen cannot be broken down any further.

H2O is water made from two atoms of Hydrogen and one of Oxygen.

Since it can be broken down into Hydrogen and Oxygen (by boiling it) it is a compound.

This has puzzled me to no end. We search for water yet to a single RBC. water will crenate. Aye-yi-yi. You would not be the first to hit the logic wall. RBC's need LISS, Low ionic strength saline. I can't make this **** up. Think long and hard, long and hard, I'm being stupid here, but what is sustained by long and hard is not a laughing matter to reproduction. Don't bother asking your proffesors. It is not there place to teach you about the long and hard! Nature is a little shy, give Her time to teach you.
