The "traditional" meal is either turkey or ham. If your family does not like or eat either of these (or the corn or potatoes) then make your own tradition. Make your families favorite meal. Everyone being together is what makes it a holiday anyway. I am going to my sister's house. Her husband is away and it will be just her and her 16 year old son. We are making a roast instead of the traditional Thanksgiving dinner. I think it will turn out great.

How about Cornish Hens. or make a Tomato sauce and use it in home made Lasagna served with Salad and Garlic Bread. To Top it off get there favorite pie for desert.
or Take a Meatloaf , When it is almost done take it out of the oven and spread Mashed potatoes on top and sides Keep putting the on so it is thick all around , Put this back in the oven to finish cooking the potatoes with get slightly ,slightly brown,(cook no more than 10 to 15min's) Serve with your favorite vegetables, and Gravy. Again don't forget the desert.

I think what you need really is desert ideas. Are you sure boiled carrots is really a good idea for a desert dish?
I love carrots, but that is definetly NOT a desert, especially for a meal like Thanksgiving.
Basically, you just elimanted alot of traditional options, but you can serve green beans or peas.

earlier my Father handed directly to the excellent beyond, we consistently had fairly enormous Thanksgiving get togethers. One time my dad made 3 categories of Turkey and a Ham. Smoked, deep pal, and baked turkey, and a Ham with pineapple throughout it!

How about a pot roast with rice or noodles and green beans? Or you could have a family brunch and make scrambled eggs, pancakes, fruit salad, etc? Really you can make anything you want for Thanksgiving. Quiche, hamburgers, pizza, spaghetti, or whatever you want. The point is to get together and have fun.

No one says you have to have a "traditional" Thanksgiving meal. It's not what you're eating but rather that you're giving thanks for the bounty - no matter how great or how small - that you do have.
Serve steaks, with green beans and rice. It should do nicely with your choice of dessert.
