I didn't elect him!!! Not all of us agree what is going on in our goverment is right. So why take it out on all of us. If we had went with the popular vote instead of the electoral college Al Gore would be our leader right now. If your government did something that you didn't like would you want all of us to take it out on you personally? Because that is what you are doing to us!
Germany had Hitler so does that make all Germans bad people?
Iraq had Hussein so does that make all Iraqies bad people?
I can go on but I think I made my point.
Hate my government but don't hate all of the people that live under that government.
I am proud to be an American no matter what any of you say.

I like Americans, I live in Australia and Americans are portrayed as being quite well mannered with respect for the bible and patriotic, however they do have a reputation around here of being the worlds "bully", trying to control every other country, but maybe that's the fault of the Bush government????

I have been defending America over the Iraq issue quite a lot on Forums in the past 3 years.
Not because I like Bush, but more because I hate Saddam.
Anyway, as soon as you debate Iraq on Australian Forums, people will throw everything but the kitchen sink at America. And sometimes it is unfair.
I don't dislike America as there is much to admire, like their space program.
But there are things that I don't like as well.
1) Their bible preachers and the fact that they cannot speak two sentences without thanking God.
2) The fact that they don't do what they preach makes them hypocrites in my eyes.
3) The fact that they have no knowledge of the outside world besides their own little universe. They only represent 5 per cent of the global population and they act like if there is nothing else worth worrying about besides America.
4) Uncle Sam keeps having its little wars abroad to protect America's interests and keep the military machine going. The manufacture of weapons and its army is what drives the American economy. Without it, Europe would become the leading economic power.
5) Again... the hipocrysis of its white preachers population ignoring the black suffering and poverty.
6) The fact that this so called great country has 40 per cent of its population living in poverty and that those people are left to die because the health system refuse to care for them.
Am I jealous of America? I don't think so...

There are many injustices in the world, and people need to stick up for others. Like with kids, no amount of hitting them will teach them to be peaceful and resolve their conflicts. American pride may come across as you feeling like you are better than the rest of the world. From the outside it looks like the average American disagrees with Bush yet does nothing about it. It seems as though it took a long time for people to stand up and say something, I'm not sure how many are DOING something. That's how it looks from the outside. By the way, I don't hate anybody.

the general population seems to have the "herd" mentality. look at all the hatred and sometimes unecessary profiling muslims have had to endure post 9/11 in this country. not all muslims are terrorists or al queda operatives, but the general US population looks at that popluation at large like they are. it is just a human impulse to group people together with the easiest label. it requires the least amount of thought and people are basically lazy. so don't get all riled up about something you can't change. just continue to be a good person and set people straight when they blame you for all that sucks about america.

Actually, you made my point.
You start off by generalising 'everybody' as down on Americans. That's just not true and you know it. But then you rant on about 'everybody' else generalising. One or the other, honey, you can't have both.
You also completely ignore the fact that so many U.S. Americans behave in ways that can only be considered rude, arrogant, and stupid, whether they're mouthing off on Y!A or touring Europe. That's where our collective poor reputation comes from. Well, that and our government's long-standing habit of bullying other countries and telling them how they'll be governed and by whom. Bush certainly didn't invent that one.
