Yes he can sue, but the cost for him and the chance of collecting would seem a waste of time. He can sue about anything, but she would have had to have made statements to slander his character or position and they would have to be false. It would be up to him and his attorney to prove this, and than a jury would deliberate on a finding as this is civil litigation and if true than damages cold be awarded. It is not much of case, better known as he said , she said and not many attorneys would take that type of case unless there was some real money involved.

It depends on waht she is saying, if it is of a bad nature then yes he can sue for slander and defimation of charachter. Thing he would have to prove that what she is saying is not true and he would also have to pay legal costs until the case is decided, does he have this amount of money?

of course. if the statements are not 100% true it's called defamation. your jurisdiction may also have a seperate crime where people are prosecuted for making malicious statements, true or not. it sounds like your sister is going out of her way to attack this guy by talking about him to everyone, and that makes her a scummy *****, even if it's not libel. and of course if he can prove that she is why he lost his job, then he can sue her for his lost earnings

Look, he chose her. Why should he get to sue her now?
Unfortunately, we do have some laws that will possibly allow it, if he can get a judge and lawyer to listen, and he has proof. But really, no. He messed up, people went talking about him.... Hey, it happens. Next time he'll be a better person than that. Let's hope. SO WILL SHE. Hope she's not sued....

If what she is saying about him is the truth then he could not sue her, if she is lying about him and he can prove it then he has a case for slander.
