I have no plans for Thanksgiving so I would like to get some ideas.

This is going to be the second Thanksgiving my husband and I are going to have away from our family. *Sigh*
Well, we'll do what we did last year: Invite a bunch of friends over, and make it a potluck. I'll do the turkey, potatoes, stuffing, gravy, drinks, and pie, and everyone else will bring something else. This year's going to be great...the single soldiers we're friends with were in Iraq last year, so we had a bunch of spouses over instead...and this year we get both! YAY!

My first though upon reading your question was to answer it like this:

I trick them into going into a room that has a lock on the door. Then I lock them in there so I can enjoy the Thanksgiving feast by myself.

But then I read the rest of your question.

I've gone out to eat with my family several times on Thanksgiving. It's nice because no one has to cook or cleanup. The bad part is that then there isn't any leftovers.

Our family takes turns every year on who host the thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. The person who host the dinner at their house makes the Turkey, Ham etc.. And provides the wine, soda etc.. and the rest of us bring the side dishes. Last year it was my turn. We had 25 people, it really is great to have all the family around. Plus every one chips in and helps with the clean up.
Have a great Thanksgiving.
Kali :-)

Well, every Thanksgiving, my family goes to our relatives' house. We eat the traditional Thanksgiving foods, and I watch my cousin play Madden sports games sometimes. It's really fun.
