As much as you wish and no it won't try out your lips. Get the medicated kind if it doesn't help. (Chapstik Medicated)

I put lip balm on quite often every day, but i never thought to count the times. But i do know that if you put on to much lip balm it won't cause dryer lip but the lip balm may start peeling off your lips

Certain chemicals in lip balms, chapsticks can actually dry out lips. Try Burt's Bees or badger's stuff its almost all natural.

I have this nightime balm by Badgerhttp://www.badgerbalm.com/pc-393-2-sleep-balm.aspx that I put on my lips before I go to sleep and I don't have to put any balm or anything really on my lips during the day to keep them from getting chapped

If you lips are really dry put some lip balm on and wait 5 minutes and take an old toothbrush or rag cloth and rub it on your lips to remove the old skin off of your lips.

Nah, I dont think this is a stupid question. I think some balms ae dry enough that you canwear them under lipstickand then you dont have to reapply as often. most lip treatments need to be reapplied after lunch and after (ick)smoking. Using it more than three times a day could make your lips somewhat dependant and unable to breathe, make their own moisturizer, save that for the driest of days if you can. Also, keep in mind that some grandma types think it should only be done in discreet loations becauseit may be a turn on to those watching;-)

I have tried so many different chapsticks, lip balms, lip treatments, and so on and so forth, but the one item i have been completely satisfied with and will never move away from is called Natural Ice. It comes in regular and cherry. ITS THE BEST!

nope. lip balm away. it might be a good idea to invest in a good conditioning treatment for them, i think C.O. Bigelow makes a good one. (you can buy it at Bath and Body Works). apply it as much as you think is necessary, or once you feel that the chapstick is 'absorbed'.

as often as you can, at least this will give moisture on your lips, instead of wetting it with your on saliva, this will make your lips more dryer due to the facts that saliva is more acidic.
