Why do I keep having to unplug the power from my cable modem? If Im surfing the web using my browser its fine but if I walk away and then come back I have to unplug the modem and plud it back in again for the net to work. Anyone know why this is and what I can do to fix it?

Also Ive tried different cable modems and the same thing happens.

The first thing you have to do is identify if the problem is the cable network, or your computer. It is definitely not the modem if you have replaced that already. If you have a laptop or know someone who does, try plugging the laptop in to see if it does the same thing. I am willing to bet that it will, leaving the cable system as the cause. The problem is that there are many factors that could be causing the issue....bad cable, bad connectors, bad splitter.. you will probably have to have a technician come out. Make sure that all of your connectors are tight and not just halfway screwed on. Also make sure your cable splitter says 5 - 1,000 MHz (1 GHz).

Try a different cable from the wall to the modem. Good luck.
