If you do, do you have any restrictions for your child that you expect the driver to follow?

The teenager took the driving courses, and passed the test. He is a good driver. And although most people would think .."teenagers drive so recklessly, they're maniacs ect." in reality I noticed most don't. Most drive exspecially carefully.
As for restrictions...No driving drunk! Drive safely and don't try to pull any tricks like running a red light or u-turns. And don't just drive around town for no reason at all.... Basically have a place that you're going to.

Ya so that's my opinion... It is perfectly ok to let your teen drive with other teens.

None of my 3 teenagers (two are over 20 now) were ever allowed to ride with new drivers -- even just up the street to school. It was a problem for my daughter who was too lazy to walk anywhere, but the boys coped with it. Even later when they were allowed to ride with teenaged drivers, I had to know where they were going, who was going to be in the car, and they had to check in with me every few hours. My kids always knew that they could call me ANYTIME to come get them if they were in a situation that they didn't feel comfortable with, or if they were doing something stupid and realized it in time to prevent a dangerous situation. Trust is important both ways, but it is your child's life at stake, so a no new driver rule is not being an unreasonable parent.
Also, none of my kids got their driver's license until they were over 17 -- yes, I got tired of driving them to and from work, but they were safe.

I'm always leeting my friends drive who have recently achieved their licenses and they're responsible. My friends know not to do stupid thingsand i hate how people make a false general accusation that all teens are going to drve like mad just to show off.

I wouldn't let my son ride in a car with someone that young and inexperienced with driving...I don't think I'll even allow my son to get his license till he is 18.
