To answer that Moneypenny question, ummm....would you rather she be a gay man, then I am sure closed-mined Americans would love to see James Bond flirting with a gay man. Haha...I would find that ammusing...so that is why the character is played by a woman.

Because Ian Fleming wrote James Bond as a white guy. You cannot rewrite book to suit yourself. Or anyone else. If people think James Bond or Ian Fleming are racists, then don't buy watch or rent anything connected to James Bond.

Why is poirot belgian? Why is Miss Marple an old white woman?
Why is shaft a black man? Why did New Jack CIty and Boyz In The Hood feature mainly black people?

The answer being that this is what the original author wanted and made. A white Bond and the mainly black cast of New Jack City dont make them racist.

The original books were written before PC. It's probably not deliberate or intentional, but the producers may have to meet the expectations of the filmgoers.
Would you cast a white man as Shaft?

a white bond causing offence is (in my mind) just a little too sensitive.

I suppose in a sense yet it is racist. But in a nice way. James Bond is seen as quinticentailly (can't spell) English, so the film makers exaggerate those English qualities. Of which colour is one. (Note I am talking about perceptions not actualities yes I know that a black guy is really English, its just that he is not perceived as that so much)

its not racist as the james bond movies/books are based on the real life agents in the uk when 90% of the british population were white and it was mostly whites who protected our great nation back then unlike now where we have become a multi cultural place

i couldnt care less whether bond is black or white as long as its a gd film

With Dizzee Rascal because of the fact the style one selection this isn't any ask your self we've not got a black Bond. i'm happy with a black Bond yet, we could have a stable actor like Idris Elba and make a stable action picture particularly than herald somebody like Dizzee Rascal only for the sake of it.
