blue was seen as a strong color, the color of water and sky, and so it was used to keep the boys strong. Pink was a weaker color, so the girls got it by default.

well.... I had a pink room when I was little and it took me ages to get over it. I still can't stand barbie pink!
Sorry if you like the colour. It was just a personal opinion. Maybe its part of establishing a childs identity.

pink for girls cuz its a cool and sexi colour and the singer pink
and blue for boys cuz its a carming colour and a bbc 1 show called blue peter

I think that pink is simply a softer, more feminine colour than blue, which is why it reminds people of females' attributes.

my favourite colour is blue and most of my clothes are blue whereas i like guys who wear pink shirts. and you see pink ties on all the guys on ESPN all the time. plus i love sports and my older brother can't stand them. so you just never know...
