There is a limit to free will. You cannot will yourself to turn into a butterfly and fly off in the wind. Basically, you cannot will anything that is not consistent with laws of the universe.
The most you can do is will yourself to be "in tune" with the true purpose or ideal will for your life or in any given situation, which you can call the will of God if you believe his purpose is for us to reach the highest ideal.
Once you know your goal or purpose, yes, you can achieve great things by focusing your heart, mind and soul fully on receiving and fulfilling that vision.
The challenge I see is not so much focusing the mind on what is good, but consciously letting go of negative thoughts from the past that otherwise hold us back from achieving our true goals and purpose. Those issues take the most mental discipline to overcome, especially when divine intervention is needed to forgive.
For more on developing the full spiritual potential of your mind and spirit, read "Healing" by Francis MacNutt and "The Healing Light" by Agnes Sanford.
If you want to talk with someone I know who can pray to make things happen, like a cross between Neo and the Oracle in the Matrix, please call my friend with a healing prayer ministry at the phone number on this page http://www.houstonprogressive.org/nothanku.html
Because she practices obedience, and is in tune with God's purpose for her life, it seems whatever she prays for happens, that her prayers are answered to the same degree she obeys God. That is the only explanation I have for it. Please ask her how she does it.

Yes, I can say it is truly possible. I have seen from a first hand account that you can move objects with your mind, as crazy as it sounds. I never believed it before either, but my husband can do it. It takes so much concentration to do it though that the average person cannot do it. If you think it's not possible when you try it, it defenetely will not happen. You have to truly believe it can happen and focus only on the object.

Most people that could have been proven to be holding their breath and using micro-bursts of air to move things. They exhale sharply enough to turn pages in a book, etc.

No, not many people can do that. Basically minds are weak. But you can move things in your dream and your imagination.
