Why are hobos looked down upon? ARGH?

Most will view "hobos" as nothing but irresponsible people. Don't be discouraged; not only hobos are looked down upon – some of us are looked down by even our parents, siblings or friends. The important thing is how do you react to it. You can choose to be a victim or you can be a victor. Not all will look down humanity the way you think. When I see someone like these, I feel much compassion for them. I wish abundant and happy life for all.

Perhaps because people must question their own place in the world.
Measure themselves against those who are less fortunate or against those who have decided their existence is not defined by materialistic issues.

Homelessness and hoboism are two different things entirely.
Hobos make the concious choice to ramble around the world, seeking life outside the confines of job, bills, personal constraints.
Homelessness is not always a choice.

Believe me, my heart goes out to the homeless and I often give them money especially the teenagers. However, as a girl living in a big city homeless men and women can often be scary. Many of them suffer from mental illness and are not in touch with reality, talking nonsense and such. And lurking around subway stations, surprising you around corners, you start to worry about your own personal safety.
Plus, I can't stand the ones that not only beg for money , but harass you and sometimes follow you down the street even after you say no.
