Hi. Found this interesting object at 43 deg 06 min 46.7 sec North, 71 deg 11 min 20.3 sec. Not clear enough to make out, but why is it in a crater in New Hampshire

Hi Producer_vortex. I was searching for an RV generator dealership and noticed the crater. Zoomed in and found the object. Could be a simple explanation (usually is) but it was interesting enough to post, I thought.

I actually had this marked in my locations in GE. I intended to go and examine the area.

The quickest way to tell whether or not it is a real impact crater is to do some digging and check for shocked quartz. If present and distributed evenly around the area, then it's good indicator that it was an impact crater.

However, given the past history of the area it is more likely that it was carved by glaciers. A geologist would be able to give a more definitive answer.

You could always mention it to the USGS. They may take an interest.

It is most likely a crater and it is possible. It could be a meteor impact from a long ago. Good eye
