Wax worms and butter worms are a good way to add some weight to reptiles. They are higher in fat then other worms and crickets. So i'd give that a try, have you had them vet checked about the weight loss? It could be a sign of a virus or a pesticite.

It is possible that you can get some weight back on your turtle before winter. You need to know what kind of turtle you have as to what this kind of turtle is suppoesd to be eating. Also remember, most turtles are in hybernation now for the winter. If your turtle is outside, it should have allready burrowed itself deep in the ground. If your turtle is kept inside, it will still try to hybernate as it is in their nature to do this in the winter. I have 3 inside turtles and at times they do not want to eat the food I feed them, then a few days later they are awake and ready to eat.

Check with your local pet store in reference to the kind of turtle you have and what foods you need to get for it.

Good Luck :-)

By controlling the lighting and the temps at a summer-like level, you can keep your turtle from hibernating and give it a chance to get back to full health.
