I live in north london im 15, and some things you hear are bad, but this happened a few years ago at a pub near me:

There was a young man (about 22) who was a student, he even went to church. At this pub he was just talking to friends, a group of young men were shining a lazer pen into his eye, so he asked them to stop, he than sat back down and forgot about them, when him and two friends left, they were attacked outside, just outside on a highstreet, his two friends got away, but the group caught him and beat him to death, on the street outside this pub. They brutally smashed his head in with baseball bats, my dad said he saw the abulance and police, the boy's head was covered with a clothe, he was brutally beaten to death, with baseball bats, he had is head smashed in (litterally), and for what, asking someone to stop shining a laser in his face. Scary thing is, after 8 years in prison, for some reason, they are out now!!!

A young man with the world before him dying needlessly, is indeed a shame. Eight years does not sound like near enough time to spend in prison for taking anothers life. It happens way too often throughout the world. That is why there are so many senseless killings now. It is time to make the punishment fit the crime.

Well, I suppose that is why I live in the Republic of Texas. That type of foolishness is just not tolerated. Furthermore, with many good Texans licensed to carry concealed handguns, mine is a Glock model 23 (40 Caliber), even several would-be assailants typically think twice before attacking even a lone person.

That's probably why i don't go to pubs much, but this couldv'e happend anywhere! When i go out now i avoid eye contact and get what i need to get done without taking any notice of anyone 'cos to many people have chips on their shoulders and are probably carrying weapons. Those guys should have been hunted down and killed, 8 years is too short.

Why didn't they get life in prison for taking someones life? I sometimes wish we had the eye for an eye tooth for a tooth law in this world. That is one of the most horrific things I have ever heard. If I were those guys, I would sure watch my back. You almost wish justice will be done, if the saying "What goes around, comes around, " is true, they best not leave their homes.

That's terrible but not unexpected. My mother visited England on a tour and when in London, they were told to be in the hotel by the time the bars let out. That night, a woman was knifed to death in front of the hotel. I have to wonder about this because here in the U.S. we're told that life is so much better in England because guns are practically banned. There's obviously more to it than that, and so much more that they aren't telling us about.

There is no justice or common sense in the UK anymore. If you are caught with drugs its better to fight your way out, dump the drugs and do time for violence. You get a lot less time than having a your own personal preference on you

This is very sad but unfortunately these things will continue to happen until judges are given the powers to hand out tougher sentences . There is no deterrent in this country , they should build more jails and life should mean life. The politically correct do gooders are ruining this country.

That's not sad, it's SCARY...

Thank God I live in Cumbria, it's the most beautiful place on the face of the planet with the most friendly, amenable people...

...and it's headline news here when the traffic lights change from red to green! ;o]

Absolutely sick. Notice they are always in groups as well, bunch of yellow-bellied cowards. Makes me sick should have hung for killing someone but that seems to be the order of the day. Seems to me that those who commit crime gets away with it and the one's stuck with the hurt and anger are the parents, friends and loved one's of the person who got murdered. Geeeezzz really upsets me.
