If you don't mind my asking, what is your profession? I am a teacher, and had post-concussive syndrome with a great deal of problems re: my balance. Prior to the head injury, I moved all over the classroom constantly, but superiors understood when I disclosed the need for "planting myself" during an observation. Ask someone in the Personnel Dept., or another individual who you think you can trust if there are any accommodations when pregnant and needing to rest (holy run-on sentence!). Most importantly, listen to your body. Also, ask your doctor if he/she can write a note of some sort re: the need to lean against desk, sit in chair, rest break, etc. when at work. Also, ask about what kind of shoes will be most supportive and comfortable. Take Care!

I understand how somethimes you just have to do what you have to do. Get some inserts for your shoes. The new gel type that state they absorb shock. Wal-Mart carries some (may be doctor scholls).

Do some leg strecthing exercises before and after work. Put your feet up on every break. If at all posible see if they can allow you to sit on a stool instead of standing (of course this depends on what type of job you have.

Good luck.

wear the type of shoes that nurses wear, those white ones. if you're 7 months preggy then you should get a job that does require you to be on your feet all the time. something like an office job. don't lock your knees when you stand and stretch frequently

Support hose helps or you can get support socks that come up to almost your knees. Also EZSpirit and SAS shoes are great and help ease the pain of standing all day long. If you can't afford those sorts of shoes, then get those inserts.....use 2 per shoe. Yes, 2. If you have to stand all day, one isn't enough for pain relief.

Get a job that does not require standing. This is not a flippant answer, but one that is best for your and your baby's health.

honey! You should probably find out if there is any way you can sit during "down time" if any... also try comfortable shoes.
