That depends on what you mean by profit. If you are talking about Accounting profit, then yes, revenue - expenditure

Since this section is ECONOMICS, not ACCOUNTING then I will assume you are talking about Economic profit, which is measure by revenue - ALL costs, not just finanicial costs.

If you ran a business for one year that made a 10,000 dollar accounting profit, you would make an economic loss, because in an economic profit, opportunity costs are included as a cost.

You could have made more money packing grocerys at a local supermarket.

The opportunity cost of you working for your business was not working for a wage. That wage (what you could have got elsewhere) is an opportunity cost, which is subtracted from your accounting profit to get economic profit.

Profit equals revenues minus expenses. Profit is the money you have left from the operation of your business.
