I'd like to think that I am, especially as a single mother who works for her own money and is independent. I believe her great grandmother is also a good role model. She's very fond of her school teachers as well. Also many characters in books we read, and movies we watch. I think that there are far too many people in the public eye, celebrities and what have you, that give the wrong impression on how young girls, young women, and just plain people should act, dress and behave. People have lost a sense of responsibility, and understanding consequences. We joined the Brownies this year because I want my daughter to have a sense of being part of a community, helping others, and giving back to the world around her. I'm hoping that one day, she'll be a positive role model.

Tyra Banks, she does soo much to try to improve the self image on young women and girls, just watch her show one day.
Nancy Palosi, she speaks her mind and tells the truth, the first women speaker of the house.
Oprah, she can from no where and made herself somebody and she talks about women issues and topics she makes 1 billion a year.
Angelina Jolie, she gives her life to charities, and adopts children that no one else cares about. She is an UN ambassador.
Or you could just say your mom or some other female women that is in you life.

Do you want a "good" role model or a "bad" role model.
I would think all the fortune 500 CEO's and/or governmental leaders (i.e. Ms Rice) would be "good" choices. Oprah Winfrey, Tina Turner,
"Bad" choices would be those with little social morals, or those that have questionable choices, (Pamela Anderson, all the blonde's, I can't remember their names - the one that married that old man?) W. Houston?
I have to think on this, as I have a boy, I forgot to pick women for him to think out. Hmmm. (I actually left women good/bad traits for his mother to talk about.) Interesting...

Jane Goodall - cares for nature, the gorillas that live in it, and has worked her whole life to help preserve them.

Tina Turner - Left her abusive husband and is not afraid to talk about her past to help others who are in abusive situations.

Three role models were also named in memoriam:
