Ok, i know everyone's got a music player, and so everyone must have an earphone, the question I am asking is, why does sometimes the earphone (especially cheap ones) after a couple of week's use, can only be heard from one ear and not another. Come on, I know this happens to people a lot, either that, or the earphone company is out to get me.

Ok, I think people are getting the wrong idea, what I meant to say is WHY the earphone comes out of one ear and not another, I do not however need a lecture to tell me that cheap earphones are, you know, cheap.

because the cheap ones are made with cheap wiring.. so after a week or so of bending the wires, they snap on one side or the other, leaving you with good wiring only to one side... if you buy a set of earphones that cost more by a known manufacturer, it is a better buy in the long run... $30 for a pair from Sony that will last you at least a year.. or 10 pairs by Coby for $5 a piece...

Of course it happens a lot. How do you think the earphone companies make their money? If they made earphones that actually lasted more than six months, they would have to go into bankruptcy.
Don't we all feel sorry for them? Especially when listening to a song in mono instead of stereo.

cheap headphones(or earphones) have real THIN cheap wiring inside, and is not connected the same as one that would cost a little more, being used the way they are it isnt hard at all to get that cheap wiring to pull out or come undone just enoght so that you loose power to that earbud. Best to buy a little more quality of a earphone

It has to do with the quality of ear phones you use. The better the quality the longer it will work correctly. Cheap ear phones are usually not worth it, unless you are in a hostile environment that will damage them in a short time anyway.

I work in a limestone mill and I go through head sets pretty quick, but I have found that Phillips makes a good yet cheap set of ear phones. I personally love them and they are great and have out lasted any other that I have tried. They sell for about 14 dollars at wal-mart. They are the kind that stick directly in your ear so you have to be careful about the volume level.

I've never had this happen to me. Once, I thought it was my headphones - but it was actually the music player itself.
